Jarle Johan Pedersen has extensive work experience in the field of geospatial technology. Jarle Johan started their career as a GIS consultant at Hitra Municipality in 2008. Later, they worked as a Senior Engineer at the Norwegian Hydrographic Service from November 2008 to June 2011. In 2011, they joined the Norwegian Mapping Authority as a Senior Engineer, where they worked until March 2016. From April 2016 to June 2019, they worked as a Senior System Developer at Norconsult. Currently, they hold the position of Senior System Developer at Geodata AS since June 2019.

Jarle Johan Pedersen began their education in 2005 at Nord University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS) degree in Social Sciences. Jarle Johan completed this program in 2008. In 2006, Pedersen attended the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) for a year, focusing on Geography. The following year, from 2007 to 2008, they studied Geographic Information Systems (GIS) at Nord-Trøndelag University College (HiNT) while continuing their BCS degree.
