Dr. Joel M. Filmore

Dr. Joel M. Filmore, EdD, LCPC (IL), LPC (FL), LMHC (WI/VT/SC), currently serves as Counseling Faculty at Antioch University New England and Clinical Family Liaison at Footprints to Recovery. As the Clinical Director and CEO of The Filmore Foundation: Social-Emotional Wellness Clinic, Dr. Filmore brings extensive experience in clinical education and leadership, having previously held positions as Clinical Professor and Director of Training at Northern Illinois University, Clinical Director at St. Charles Advanced Therapy, and Assistant Professor at Seton Hall University. Dr. Filmore also contributed as President of both the Association for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Issues in Counseling and the Illinois Association for LGBT Issues In Counseling, focusing on enhancing clinical skills and advocating for the LGBT community. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Education in Counselor Education and Supervision from Northern Illinois University, a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Roosevelt University, and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Illinois Chicago.
