Walter McGee has a rich work experience spanning various industries. Walter started their career as a Customer Service Consultant - Sales at Rogers Communications in 2005 and later worked as an English Teacher at KNS Language Institute from 2006 to 2008. In 2007, they joined Fe Hou Communications Co. Ltd. as a 1st Assistant Camera Operator. Moving forward, they worked as a Production Helper at the Royal Canadian Mint from 2008 to 2010. In 2011, they had a brief stint as a GIS Consultant / Co-op Team Member at The Municipality of Centre Hastings.

Their longest tenure was at GeoDigital, where they held several roles over the years. Walter McGee completed their education in a chronological manner. From 1999 to 2004, they attended Wilfrid Laurier University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography, Sociology/History. Walter then pursued further studies at the Geomatics Institute at Fleming College from 2010 to 2011, where they obtained a Graduate Certificate in GIS - Cartography.
