Layne Alfonso has over 30 years of experience in various roles in the environmental and development sectors. They began their career at the Tacoma Pierce County Health Department as an Environmental Health Specialist from July 1987 to December 1989. They then worked at Black & Veatch as an Environmental Scientist from February 1991 to March 1998. Afterward, they joined GeoEngineers as an Environmental Scientist from March 1998 to March 2004. Layne then moved to LandAmerica Commercial Services as a Commercial Account Manager from April 2004 to March 2007. Finally, they returned to GeoEngineers as the Development Market Director in March 2007, where they currently work.
Layne Alfonso attended Washington State University from 1983 to 1987, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science/Regional Planning.
