Julian Declercq has been working in the software development industry since 2015. Julian began their career as a C++ Introduction Course Teacher at HOWEST University of Applied Sciences (Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen) in 2015. After graduating, they worked as a Software Developer at Solutions AB in 2016, where they developed KLUB Bestiarium, an AR application for children's books, and worked on another project using .NET and Linq to integrate an existing API into another for a client. In 2017, they were a Gameplay Programmer (Internship + Summer job) at Pajama Llama Games, where they were responsible for implementing mechanics in Unity (C#) for the game Flotsam. Julian also worked as a Software Developer at Solutions AB in 2018, working on several projects as the main (and often only) programmer. In 2019, they were a Research Assistant at The University of Skövde, where they were the lead programmer for a project commissioned by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. In 2020, they were a Programmer at Flamebait Games, responsible for UI programming on Forge and Fight until Early Access release. Currently, they are a Developer at GeoGuessr.
Julian Declercq obtained a Bachelor's degree (BSc) in Digital Arts & Entertainment - Game Development Major from Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen - Vlaamse Autonome Hogeschool from 2014 to 2017. Julian then completed an Erasmus semester at the University of Skövde in 2016 and 2017, obtaining a Bachelor's degree (BSc) in Computer and Information Sciences. Finally, they obtained a Master's degree (MSc) in Serious Games from the University of Skövde in 2017 and 2018.
