Tomas Jonson has a long and varied career in finance and business. Tomas began their career in 1999 as a Group Leader in Ground Combat Forces for the Swedish Military. In 2001, they became a Customer Service Assistant at SEB and continued in this role until 2002. In 2004, they became a Graduate Trainee Finance at RBS, where they worked in Leveraged Finance and Group Finance Decision Support. In 2005, they joined Nordea as an Associate Corporate Finance. In 2008, they joined Opus Group AB (publ) as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). During their time at Opus Group, they helped raise capital for the acquisition of SysTech (USA). In 2011, they became the CEO of Insplanet AB, the leading insurance online comparison platform and broker in Sweden. In 2018, Insplanet AB and Elskling AB were acquired by Zmarta Group (800 MSEK turnover), a part of Bauer Media, and Tomas became the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). In 2021, they joined GeoGuessr as Head of Growth & CFO.
Tomas Jonson attended Jönköping University from 2000 to 2002, where they obtained a BSc Business Administration degree in Finance, Business, Law, Management, HRM, Economics, and Accounting. Tomas then attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2002 to 2004, where they obtained a BSc Management degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, HRM, and Business.
