Jyrki Kokkonen has extensive experience in the field of geology and geoinformatics, currently serving as a Senior Specialist, Senior Scientist, and Team Manager at the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) since March 1999. Previously, Jyrki worked as a GIS-geologist at the University of Oulu from March 1996 to February 1999, where responsibilities included digitizing old data and building GIS databases. Jyrki's early career includes a role as a field geologist at Vapo Oy from May 1994 to August 1995, focusing on peat research. Jyrki holds a Master's Degree in Quaternary geology from the University of Oulu, completed between 1983 and 1996, and a high school diploma from Iisalmen Lukio, where studies included natural sciences, languages, and history.
