Kati Laakso is an experienced professional in the field of geology and hyperspectral remote sensing. Currently serving as a Spectral Geologist at the Geological Survey of Finland since December 2021, Kati also holds the position of Adjunct Professor at the University of Alberta's Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences. Previous roles include Data Advisor at Aalto University, Postdoctoral Fellow and Laboratory Coordinator at the University of Alberta, and founder of Timpuri Consulting. Kati has also contributed as an Open Data Advisor for the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research and served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at both Aalto University and the Helmholtz Institute Freiberg for Resource Technology. Kati's industry experience includes working as an Application Engineer at SPECIM, Spectral Imaging Ltd., and a Senior Researcher at The National Archives Service of Finland. Kati Laakso holds a Ph.D. from the University of Alberta and a Master's Degree from the University of Helsinki.
