Matti Kurhila is a Senior Scientist at the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) since May 2016, specializing in U-Pb geochronology, isotopic analyses, and trace element geochemistry. Matti has held various roles including Research Scientist focused on isotope and mineralogical research, and has contributed to petrological studies on orogenic gold ores in northern Finland. Prior experience includes lecturing on radiogenic isotope geochemistry at the University of Helsinki and senior positions at the Finnish Museum of Natural History. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Geology from the University of Helsinki, along with studies at the University of Vienna. Additional experience includes serving as Treasurer for the chamber orchestra Refugium musicum from 2008 to 2013.
