David J. Thul

David J. Thul has a diverse work experience in the geoscience field. In 2019, they became the CEO and Co-Founder of Geolumina, where they and the team are creating leading-edge, geoscience AI. From 2018 to 2019, they were the Founder of Avocet Analytics, and from 2013 to 2018, they were the Petroleum Geoscientist at PetroLuminary, LLC. David J. also held the role of CTO | Exploration at Century Natural Resources from 2018 to 2019, Senior Geologist at ATX Energy Partners from 2017 to 2018, Chief Geochemist and Manager of Petroleum Systems and Geochemistry at Energy & Geoscience Institute from 2013 to 2017, Project Operations Manager and Petroleum Geologist at Dolan Integration Group from 2009 to 2013, Research Assistant at Colorado School of Mines from 2011 to 2013, and Staff Geologist at LT Environmental, Inc. from 2008 to 2009. Additionally, they were a Researcher at the University of Colorado at Boulder from 2007 to 2008.

David J. Thul obtained a B.A. in Geology from the University of Colorado Boulder between 2003 and 2008. David J. then obtained a M.S. in Geology from the Colorado School of Mines between 2010 and 2012. David J. is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Geology from the Colorado School of Mines, which they expect to complete in 2022. In 2008, they obtained a Geologist in Training certification from the Wyoming Board of Professional Geologists, and in 2014 they obtained a Professional Geologist certification from the same institution.
