Katja Matthes

Katja Matthes is a prominent researcher in atmospheric sciences and meteorology, currently serving as the Director and Professor at GEOMAR Helmholtz-Zentrum für Ozeanforschung Kiel since January 2012. Prior to this role, Katja Matthes held a professorship at Freie Universität Berlin from April 2010 to December 2011 and served as the leader of a junior research group at GFZ-Potsdam between January 2009 and December 2011. Katja Matthes obtained a doctorate in atmospheric sciences and meteorology from Freie Universität Berlin in 2003, following a Diplom degree in the same field from the same institution in 2000.
