Gustavo Vela-Moreno is currently a Trustee at George Fox University. Gustavo previously worked as a Facilities Analyst at Marion County Oregon from July 2016 to April 2018, where they were responsible for developing an integrated facility condition portfolio, including capital forecasting, facility condition assessment, and facility operations & maintenance metrics. Gustavo also implemented the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) to facilitate management of facilities and data sharing.
Before working at Marion County Oregon, Gustavo was a Field Engineer at Plant Construction Company, LP from June 2015 to June 2016, where they managed and compared bids for selection of subcontractors for a 16,000 square feet water quality basin project. Gustavo also processed daily RFI and bridged communication between design team and subcontractors. Additionally, Gustavo reviewed and submitted timely subcontractor submittals to design team, collected subcontractor change order requests and prepared them for ownership review, and updated the project Plangrid drawings with RFI responses and approved submittals for on the field efficient referencing.
Gustavo’s first engineering position was as an Associate Engineer at Oregon Department of Transportation from May 2013 to August 2014.
Gustavo Vela-Moreno earned their Bachelor of Science Engineering (B.S.E) in Civil Engineering from George Fox University. Gustavo then went on to earn their Master's degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University.
