Joe Williams

Joe Williams currently serves as the Associate University Librarian for Scholarly Resources and Services at Georgetown University, a position held since October 2024. Prior to this role, Joe was the Associate Vice Provost and University Librarian for Data Access Research & Teaching Services at the University of Oregon from August 2022 to October 2024, managing a diverse portfolio including access services and research data services. Joe has also held significant positions at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, including Director of Public Services and Interim Associate University Librarian, overseeing various library services and collections. Additionally, Joe founded and edited the Journal of Learning Spaces, contributing to scholarly discourse on learning space design and pedagogy. Joe’s educational background includes a Master’s in Library Science from the UNC School of Information and Library Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from Warren Wilson College.
