Samanta Carvalho has extensive experience in community development. Samanta started their career as a Community Development Coordinator with the Unified Government of Athens Clarke County in 2002 and held the position until September 2015. In 2015, they joined the Georgia Department of Community Affairs as a Community Development Specialist. Samanta later advanced to the role of Community HOME Investment Program Manager in July 2017 and eventually became the Director of the Office of Community Housing Development in November 2018.
