Willie Davis

Willie Davis, Jr., MSHI, RHIA has a diverse work experience starting from their role as a Fire Controlman in the US Navy, where they performed maintenance on weapons control systems and power distribution systems. Willie then went on to work in the telecommunications industry, where they held various roles including Broadband Installation and Service Technician, Headend Technician, and Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial Network Analyst. In these roles, they installed and maintained video, telephony, and high-speed data equipment, and provided technical support to network technicians. After that, they worked as a Medical Records Technician at the Atlanta VA Medical Center, processing patient release of information requests. Willie then joined HealthPort Technologies as a Senior Release of Information Specialist, where they supervised workflow and ensured compliance with privacy regulations. Davis also worked at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as a Regional Telehealth Specialist, supporting telemedicine initiatives and coordinating care delivery. Most recently, they worked at the Georgia Department of Public Health as a Public Health Informatics Analyst, promoting the use of informatics for environmental health programs. Davis is currently serving as the HMIS Data Team Lead at the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.

Willie Davis, Jr., MSHI, RHIA has a diverse education history. Willie obtained a Master of Science degree in Health Informatics from Mercer University in the years 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Administration from Augusta University in the years 2014 to 2016. Willie also holds an Associate's Degree in Health Sciences in Health Information Administration from Georgia State University Perimeter College, which they completed from 2012 to 2014. In addition, they have completed multiple certifications in various data analysis and programming subjects from institutions such as Coursera, LinkedIn, and Kaggle.
