Ashley Barfield has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. In their most recent position as the Director of Tourism Research at the Georgia Department of Economic Development, they conducted research and analysis related to tourism. Prior to this, they worked as an Analyst at Luckie & Company, where they produced marketing project reports and coordinated the goals of different teams. Ashley also served as a Graduate Assistant at the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, University of Georgia, presenting research on recreation demand and beach erosion. After completing their undergraduate studies in 2010, Ashley continued their education at The University of Georgia and obtained a Master of Science degree in Environmental Economics in 2012.
Furthermore, Ashley Barfield's passion for research and academia led their to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Agricultural and Applied Economics with an emphasis on Environmental and Natural Resource Economics at The University of Georgia. Ashley completed their doctoral studies in 2016.
