Dr. Stephanie Johnson is an experienced educational leader with a proven track record in school improvement and turnaround initiatives. Currently serving as Chief Turnaround Officer and Deputy Superintendent at the Georgia Department of Education since July 2017, Dr. Johnson oversees School Improvement, School and District Effectiveness, and Professional Development. Previously, Dr. Johnson held the position of High School Principal at Atlanta Public Schools, where significant improvements were made at Maynard Jackson High School, and achieved success in transitioning several schools from underperforming to distinguished status while at Clayton County Public Schools. Dr. Johnson's educational background includes a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Capella University and multiple certifications in educational leadership and counseling from the University of South Alabama and other institutions.
