Kristian Serrano

Kristian Serrano has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. In their most recent role as a Web Administrator at the Georgia Municipal Association since March 2020, Kristian manages the content and design of the Association's web properties and collaborates with the Digital Content Manager and Senior Web Developer to enhance these properties.

Prior to that, Kristian worked at Emory University from 2012 to 2020. In their role as Lead Web Developer, Kristian ensured consistency and strategy for content and design among Emory Libraries' web properties. They also established patterns, standards, and guidelines for Library websites and applications. Additionally, they collaborated closely with Campus and Community Relations for communication needs and content strategy. Before being promoted to Lead Web Developer, Kristian worked as a Web Developer at Emory University from 2012 to 2015. In this role, they designed intuitive user experiences, conducted research, and identified user and technical requirements.

From 2008 to 2012, Kristian served as a Web Specialist at Georgia State University. In this position, they managed the university-wide portal content and organization and provided support to staff, faculty, and students.

Prior to their tenure at Georgia State University, Kristian worked at the University of Florida from 2004 to 2007. As a Communications Coordinator, they handled marketing and public relations for the Division of Continuing Education. They also facilitated internal relations and collaboration within the division and with other colleges and departments at the University of Florida. Prior to that, Kristian worked as an IT Expert at the University of Florida from 2004 to 2006, where they identified opportunities for process improvement and collaborated with developers to design new systems. They also integrated DCE systems with central University systems and wrote technical support documentation.

Earlier in their career, Kristian worked as an Associate at Massey Communications for a brief period in 2004 and served as an Adjunct Instructor at the Santa Fe Community College Information Technology Education Department from 2000 to 2002.

Kristian Serrano attended Santa Fe Community College from 2000 to 2002, where they obtained an A.S. degree in Computer Systems Analysis. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Florida from 2002 to 2004 and completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations.
