Aaron Harper

Aaron Harper is an experienced legal professional currently serving as a Conflict Public Defender at the Georgia Public Defender Council since August 2023. Prior roles include Assistant Public Defender for the Georgia Public Defender from April 2022 to August 2023, and Associate Attorney at Matson & Matson, P.C. from May 2020 to March 2022. Early legal experience includes a law clerk position at the Bibb County District Attorney’s Office and a legal internship at the Floyd County District Attorney. Aaron Harper earned a Doctor of Law (JD) from Mercer University - Walter F. George School of Law, following a Bachelor of Arts in History from Shorter University. Additionally, prior experience includes roles at Chick-fil-A, including managing a night shift team and serving as a congressional intern in the U.S. Congress.
