Tim Denning

Tim Denning, PhD, has a diverse work experience in the fields of research and academia. Tim is currently serving as the President & Chief Executive Officer at the Georgia Research Alliance, a position they have held since November 2023. From November 2020 to November 2023, they worked as the Vice President for Research and Economic Development at Georgia State University. Prior to that, they held multiple roles at the Institute for Biomedical Sciences, Georgia State University, including Professor from April 2018 to November 2023, Associate Director from December 2015 to October 2020, and Associate Professor from September 2013 to April 2018. Tim also worked as an Assistant Professor at Emory University School of Medicine from February 2009 to September 2013 and as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Emory Vaccine Center from November 2004 to February 2009.

Tim Denning, PhD earned their Bachelor's degree in Biology/Chemistry from Texas A&M University from 1992 to 1996. Tim then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Microbiology and Immunology from The University of Texas Medical Branch, completing their studies from 1997 to 2002.
