James Sanford MBA, NCSO

James Sanford MBA, NCSO has extensive work experience in the energy and nuclear industry. James began their career in 1998 as a Nuclear Machinist Mate (ELT) in the US Navy, where they served until 2009. During their time in the Navy, they also held the role of Master Training Specialist.

From 2009 to 2011, James worked at Entergy Vermont Yankee as an Auxiliary Operator. James then moved on to ISO New England, where they held the positions of System Operator from 2011 to 2014 and Senior System Operator from 2014 to 2017.

Currently, James is employed at Georgia System Operations Corporation, where they have held various roles since 2017. James started as a Generation Coordinator in 2017, then moved up to the position of System Operator II in 2017. Currently, they are serving as a Senior Engineer, a position they have held since 2022.

Throughout their career, James has demonstrated their expertise in energy operations and management, with a focus on system operations. James'sexperience in both the military and civilian sectors provides him with a unique perspective and comprehensive understanding of the industry.

James Sanford has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Kennesaw State University (2018-2019). Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Applied Science and Technology (BSAST) with a specialization in Nuclear Engineering Technologies from Thomas Edison State College (2006-2009). Additionally, they hold a certification as a NERC Reliability Coordinator from the North American Electric Reliability Corporation, which they obtained in April 2011.
