Anthony Carapetis

Anthony Carapetis has a diverse work experience in software engineering and teaching. Anthony is currently working as a Software Engineer at Geoscience Australia since January 2019. In this role, they provide technical leadership to a small team and maintains the operational earthquake alerting system.

In 2020, they also worked as a Solutions Developer at Diversity Arrays Technology Pty Ltd, where they primarily focused on developing software for statistical analysis of genomic data using various programming languages. Anthony also provided advice and prototype solutions for DevOps concerns.

Prior to that, Anthony worked as a Software Engineer at CSIRO in 2018, where they designed and developed web-based software and backend systems for scientific data visualization and analysis.

From 2015 to 2017, they held the position of Sessional Teacher at The Australian National University, conducting tutorial classes in mathematics and astrophysics.

Before that, Anthony worked as a Software Developer at Unisolve Pty Ltd from 2006 to 2013, where they were responsible for full-stack development of web applications, automation and integration of software systems, and administration of Linux servers.

Anthony Carapetis completed their Bachelor of Science Advanced (with Honours) degree in Mathematics from Monash University from 2009 to 2012. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mathematics at The Australian National University from 2013 to 2018.
