Julia Jones

Julia Jones is an accomplished communication professional with extensive experience in strategic communications and media engagement. Currently serving as the Internal Communication Manager at Geoscience Australia since January 2022, Julia has also held roles such as Acting Strategic Communications Manager for the Space Division and Place and Communities and Advisor for Media and Ministerial Engagement. Prior to this, Julia contributed to external communications at UNSW from March 2018 to January 2022, focusing on media relations and publication management to enhance the university's global ranking. Other notable positions include Senior Communications Officer at the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority, Communications Advisor for the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, and Communications Officer at the Department of Education, Employment, and Workplace Relations. Julia began a career in communications with internships at One Green Bean and Stellar Concepts Australia, complemented by a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from the University of Canberra.
