Burkni Pálsson

Burkni Pálsson has been involved in a variety of work experiences since 1998. Burkni began as a Bioinformatics Specialist at deCODE genetics, where they developed software for allowing graphical interpretation of the output of multiple exon predictors, visualizing data, and designing primers. In 2012, they became a Teacher at Keilir and a CTO at geoSilica Iceland, a company which focuses on the development of novel silica related health care products. Most recently, in 2017, they became a Researcher PhD Candidate at Háskóli Íslands.

Burkni Pálsson attended Háskóli Íslands from 1995 to 1999, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in both Mathematics and Physics. Burkni then returned to Háskóli Íslands from 2009 to 2012 to earn a B.Sc. in Energy and Environmental Engineering. Finally, they received a Master of Science - MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Háskóli Íslands in 2017-2019.
