Peter Zeeb

President & CEO at Geosyntec Consultants

Peter Zeeb is a Senior Principal Hydrogeologist based in Massachusetts with more than 25 years of experience focused on investigation and remediation strategy at some of the most challenging sites in the country, including CERCLA-regulated sites in New England and the Midwest, as well as numerous state-regulated sites. Peter is President & CEO of Geosyntec Consultants.

Specializing in site investigations, modeling, pilot tests, remedial strategy development/alternatives analyses, and full-scale remedy design, Peter serves as the technical lead for hydrogeological, chemical fate and transport, and monitored natural attenuation evaluations on multi-disciplinary project teams. Based on his experience and qualifications, he is often retained as a trusted consulting or testifying expert for litigation matters in the disciplines of hydrogeology, geochemistry, and fate and transport.

As a consultant, Peter has authored a number of publications on groundwater and soil remediation, groundwater fate and transport, and vapor intrusion. Among these is his doctoral dissertation on the effects of small-scale subsurface features on groundwater flow and transport through wetlands and the relationship of wetland systems to glacial aquifers.

To advance the state of the practice, Peter regularly contributes to guidance documents and other publications related to natural attenuation, high-resolution site characterization, and in situ remediation focusing on groundwater impacted by chlorinated solvents, metals, and the gasoline additive MTBE. He has also served as a steering committee member on the Remediation Technology Development Forum (RTDF) Source Area BioRemediation (SABRe) project, an applied research and development project located in central England designed to examine the efficacy of accelerated anaerobic bioremediation as an alternative treatment for source areas contaminated with dense non-aqueous phase liquids (DNAPLs), particularly trichloroethylene (TCE).
