Michael Riffler

Head Of Research And Innovation at GeoVille

Michael Riffler has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Michael started their career as a Weather Forecaster at Meteomedia AG in 2004. Michael then pursued a PHD and worked as a PHD Candidate/PostDoc at the University of Bern from 2006 to 2010. Following that, they worked as a Project Manager at Meteomedia AG from 2010 to 2011. Michael then joined the Oeschger Centre for Climate Change Research, University of Bern as a Science Officer from 2012 to 2015. In 2015, they became the Head of Research and Innovation at GeoVille Information Systems. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Technical Officer at BookSat since 2021.

Michael Riffler earned a Master's degree in Meteorology from Leopold-Franzens Universität Innsbruck, where they studied from 1998 to 2005. Michael then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Geography with a focus on Satellite Remote Sensing at the University of Bern, from 2007 to 2010.
