Marco Giardina has a wealth of experience in the field of data science. From 2011 to 2018, they worked for several companies in various roles. In 2011, they worked as a Data Scientist for Cariparma, where they were responsible for reporting, data mining, and customer segmentation modelling. In 2012, they founded and worked as a Data Scientist for Bet Analytics, where they identified and captured price inefficiencies and specific liquidity patterns in the soccer and horse race betting market. From 2014 to 2015, they worked as a Data Scientist for Logotel and KBC Bank Ireland, respectively. At KBC Bank, they were responsible for machine learning, data mining, spatial analysis GIS, predictive modelling, reporting, and visual analytics. In 2016, they worked as a Data Scientist for Three Ireland, where they were responsible for recommendation engine, data mining, machine learning, propensity and churn model, spatial analysis GIS, and visual analytics. Finally, in 2017 and 2018, they worked as a CTO and Co-Founder at Geowox, where they provided automated property valuations for mortgage providers using open data, crowdsourcing and machine learning.
Marco Giardina has a diverse educational background. Marco obtained a CPD Geographical Information Systems Certificate from Technological University Dublin in 2017. From 2009 to 2011, they obtained a Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics and Business from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna. Marco also obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics from Università degli Studi di Messina from 2006 to 2009.
