Ron Boon

Ron Boon is an experienced research professional in the field of plant biotechnology. Currently serving as a Research Assistant at Germains Seed Technology since November 2019, Ron focuses on seed health and the development of seed treatments to eliminate pathogens from vegetable seeds. Prior experience includes an internship at Enza Zaden in the phytopathology department, where Ron worked on elucidating resistance genes in Spinacia oleracea, and a master's thesis at Wageningen University & Research, which involved researching genes related to the virulence of Botrytis cinerea. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Plant Biotechnology from Wageningen University & Research and a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from Inholland University of Applied Sciences. Additional roles include contributing as a Commissioner Intern for the student swimming association SZV Aquifer and an internship at Syngenta focusing on the regeneration of Brassica oleracea protoplasts.
