Matthias Notz

Managing Director at German Accelerator

Matthias Notz began their work experience in 2002 as a Research Assistant and Lecturer at Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München. Matthias then worked as a Team Lead and Senior Consultant at actori GmbH from 2008 to 2011. In 2010, they became a Lecturer at Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, where they taught business skills tailored for the cultural sector and served as a jury member in the 'Cultural Entrepreneurship Lab'. Notz then joined Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München as a Lecturer in 2012. Matthias also worked as a Lecturer at LMU Entrepreneurship Center from 2008 to present, and as a Managing Director at Munich Innovation Ecosystem from 2017 to present. In 2011, Notz became the Director of Business Development at German Entrepreneurship GmbH before being promoted to CEO in 2013. In 2012, they took on the role of Managing Director at German Accelerator, where they guided high potential companies in entering international markets. Most recently, in 2022, Notz became a Professor for Ecosystem of Scale at Technische Hochschule Deggendorf, focusing on regional, national, and international innovation ecosystems development.

Matthias Notz attended Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München from 1997 to 2002, where they obtained a Diplom-Kaufmann degree in Betriebswirtschaftslehre. Matthias later pursued a Master of Business Research (MBR) degree in Betriebswirtschaftliche Forschung from the same university from 2003 to 2006. From 2005 to 2007, Matthias Notz engaged in research work for the project "Controlling systems for university management" at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.
