Katharina Mayer

Katharina Mayer is a Senior Policy Advisor at Verband der chemischen Industrie e.V. (VCI) in Berlin, specializing in European policy and sustainability since March 2011. In this role, Mayer leads a small team managing VCI's advocacy and communication activities related to the EU Green Deal. Previously, Mayer served as a trade policy advisor and a member of the Director General's staff, focusing on meeting preparations and the development of briefing materials. From June 2007 to February 2011, Mayer worked as a Policy Advisor in the German Parliament, where responsibilities included researching political topics, managing press relations, and writing speeches. Mayer holds Master's degrees in Political Science from Freie Universität Berlin and in International Careers – Conflicts and Security from Sciences Po.
