Jochen Küpper

Jochen Küpper is a highly experienced lead scientist at DESY, specializing in the recording of molecular movies and the manipulation of molecules and biological nanoparticles since May 2021. As a university professor of physics and professor by courtesy of chemistry at the University of Hamburg, Küpper focuses on experimental and theoretical physics, biophysics, and controlled molecule imaging. Prior roles include group leader at the Center for Free-Electron Laser Science, leader of a research group at the Fritz-Haber-Institute, and various research associate positions in prestigious institutions. Küpper holds advanced degrees in experimental physics and physical chemistry from Freie Universität Berlin and the University of Düsseldorf, respectively.
