Melissa Lundberg Schmit serves as the Senior Director of Permitting at National Grid Renewables since January 2016, overseeing regulatory compliance and environmental permitting for the company's wind and solar projects while managing project risks through stakeholder consultation. Prior experience includes roles at E3 Environmental as an Environmental Consultant and Project Manager, where Melissa provided regulatory review for oil and gas infrastructure, and positions at HDR as an Environmental Scientist focused on state and federal permitting for wind development and associated environmental assessments. Melissa also gained legal experience as a Judicial Extern for the United States District Court and as a Law Clerk for The Nature Conservancy. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor degree from Mitchell Hamline School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies/Geography from Gustavus Adolphus College.
