GESDA - Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipator
Gerard Escher is a highly experienced senior advisor with a robust background in science, education, and research. Currently serving as a Senior Advisor at GESDA - Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipator since July 2021, Gerard previously held the role of Senior Advisor in the Office of the President at the Ecole Polytechnique de Lausanne from October 2008 to October 2021. Prior engagements include serving as Deputy Director and Head of the Analysis and Forecast Division at the State Secretariat of Education and Research from 1999 to October 2008, as well as leading a group at the University of Lausanne from 1992 to 1998. Gerard's academic career began with postdoctoral research at Stanford University School of Medicine from 1987 to 1992 and included a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Lausanne, complemented by a Master's degree in Biology from the University of Geneva.
