Dr. Dimitar Iliev is a scientific expert with extensive experience in applied mathematics and computational modeling, currently serving as a Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter at Gesellschaft für Anlagen- und Reaktorsicherheit gGmbH since January 2018. Dr. Iliev is involved in the development and validation of the simulation code COCOSYS for analyzing severe accidents in nuclear power plants, focusing on thermal hydraulics models and utilizing programming languages such as FORTRAN. Prior experience includes a role as a scientific assistant at Fraunhofer ITWM, where software was developed in C++ and MATLAB, and earlier positions as a computer programmer at the Institute of Mechanics and a teaching assistant at Sofia University. Dr. Iliev holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau, along with master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Computational Mathematics and Applied Mathematics from Sofia University.
