Alex Alpharaoh

Alex Alpharaoh is a Guatemalan born, nationally recognized award winning actor, dramatic writer, spoken word poet, solo performer, and teaching artist from Los Angeles, CA. He is the recipient of the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for best Solo Performance of the Year for his autobiographical Solo show titled WET: A DACAmented Journey. He is a 2022 Disruptors Fellow, a Princeton Arts Fellow Finalist, a published Author, and was recognized in 2022 by Mayor Eric Garcetti and the city of Los Angeles for his artivism and creative contributions to the city.

As an actor, Alex can be seen on hit shows like Ana: La Serie, Riley Parra, and This Fool.

Alex teaches a FunDaMentals of Spoken Word and Performance Poetry class where he fuses writing technique with experiential acting, creating a powerful toolset for self expression and healing.

Alex is the founder of SP!T: Spoken Word Theatre, an ensemble that focuses on telling stories about Los Angeles by fusing street culture and Hip-Hop with acting as the basis of storytelling.

As a formerly undocumented citizen, Alex believes in the transformative power of sharing one’s truth and vulnerability, especially in the face of adversity. Alex has been acting professionally for over a decade and has been a poet for over 25 years.
