Branden Morin

Branden Morin has a diverse work experience in the field of web development and application development. Branden is currently employed as a Full Stack Developer at OpenWater, Inc. since 2020. Prior to this, they worked as the Manager of Digital Applications Development at SaltWire Network from 2019 to 2020, where they led a team of 5 developers and managed the SaltWire digital platform using agile methodologies. Branden also initiated the formation of a digital steering committee to improve collaboration between different business units and the development team.

Before SaltWire, Morin worked as a Web Developer at The Chronicle Herald from 2016 to 2019, where they were responsible for writing, deploying, and maintaining Python, HTML, CSS/JS in a high availability Linux environment. Branden created efficient development workflows and strategies for the team, ensuring smooth transition of features across different environments.

In 2016, Morin briefly worked as a Front-end Web Developer at VERB Interactive. Prior to that, they worked again at The Chronicle Herald as a Web Developer from 2015 to 2016, where they maintained and updated a Drupal 7 website and created responsive front-end designs and WordPress themes for smaller websites.

Morin began their career as a Web Application Developer and Consultant at Halifax Regional Municipality in 2013. Branden worked on a Legacy Application Project, responsible for rewriting 10 legacy Java applications into modern web applications. Branden also worked as an Intern at the same organization, where they developed applications for Metro transit and Call Centre and gathered client requirements.

Branden Morin attended Nova Scotia Community College - NSCC from 2011 to 2013, where they obtained a Certificate in Computer Programming. Branden also has additional certifications in Installation and Configuration of IIS 7.5 and JIRA from OSTraining, although the specific details such as the institution and the month/year of obtaining these certifications are unknown.
