Abi McDonald has a diverse work experience. They started their career in 2009 at Ingeus, where they held various roles, including Senior Business Development Manager and Business Development Manager. During their time at Ingeus, Abi led strategy projects, developed propositions for new markets, and played a key role in successful tender bids.
In 2013, Abi worked as a Business Development Consultant for Carillion, focusing on the Ministry of Justice Transforming Rehabilitation opportunity. They project managed bid responses, designed delivery solutions, and directed stakeholder and partnership activities.
From 2014 to 2021, Abi rejoined Reed in Partnership as an Associate Director of Business Development. In this role, they were responsible for business development activities and made significant contributions to the organization's growth and success.
In 2021, Abi transitioned to Reed Wellbeing as an Associate Director of Service Development and Innovation, where they focused on service development and innovation initiatives. They remained in this role until 2022.
Currently, Abi is the Director of Business Development at Get Set UK, a position they took on in 2023. At Get Set UK, they are responsible for driving business development strategies and initiatives.
Abi McDonald has a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the University of Leicester, which they obtained from 1997 to 2001. Abi then pursued a Postgraduate Diploma in Law at The College of Law (University of Law) from 2001 to 2002. In 2017, Abi completed a Project Management Qualification from the Association for Project Management (APM). In 2021, they enrolled in a Service Design and Innovation Intensive Online Short Course at the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London.
