Ovais Tariq

Ovais Tariq is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in leadership and engineering roles. As Co-Founder and CEO of Tigris Data Inc since December 2021, Ovais also serves as an angel investor for Ampt and Budibase, which focus on cloud application development and low-code platforms, respectively. Previously, at Uber from 2016 to 2021, Ovais led the storage infrastructure team, building core systems that supported essential business functions. Prior experience includes leadership positions at Lithium Technologies, where Ovais enhanced infrastructure reliability and efficiency, and at Percona, where Ovais specialized in MySQL management and disaster recovery. Ovais began a career in software development with roles at TMN Express News, HireLabs, Infinity, and TechVelocity, demonstrating a strong foundation in programming and system design. Educational qualifications include an HBX Executive Education in Leadership from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Computer Science from Karachi University.
