Calla Turnbull

Calla Turnbull has diverse work experience in various roles. Calla currently works as a Professor at St. Lawrence College since May 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Content Specialist at Maple (getmaple.ca) in 2021. From 2019 to 2021, Calla served as a Technical Writer at Canopy Growth Corporation, where they edited and authored process documentation and provided training to ensure document control standards. Before that, they worked at the City of Calgary from 2018 to 2019 as a Technical Writer and Training Liaison, managing over 700 SOPs and creating training manuals. Calla's earlier role was as a Project Coordinator at Secure Energy Services Inc. from 2014 to 2018, where they worked as an environmental scientist, responsible for authoring and editing scientific reports and developing templates for data displays.

Calla Turnbull completed a Technical Writing Graduate Certificate at Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology in 2017. Prior to that, they received a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with a focus on Natural Resource Management from the University of Guelph, graduating in 2010. In the same year, Calla also participated in an exchange semester at the University of Stirling, studying Environmental Science. Calla returned to Algonquin College in 2017 to pursue a second Technical Writing Graduate Certificate, this time specializing in Communication and Media Studies, which they completed in 2018. Calla has obtained additional certifications such as CPR C plus AED in September 2012, Winter Fleet Driving Safety Certificate in December 2011, and Accessible Service Excellence from OTEC in May 2011. Calla also possesses certifications in Ground Disturbance Level II, H2S Alive, OSSA Orientation, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, WHMIS, and Winter Fleet Driving Safety, though the institutions and specific dates of obtaining these certifications are not provided.
