Mark Ross has a long and varied work history, beginning with their role as a Solutions Engineer at Telecom New Zealand in 2000. Mark then moved on to Likka Productions in 2003 as a Flash Developer, where they created powerful, rich media web applications. In 2005, they worked as a Web Developer at betabuddy.com and as a Sr. Flash Developer at ExtendMedia, where they designed and developed a Flash digital storefront / player application. In 2007, they joined CTV as a Senior Flash Developer, where they designed and developed a theme-based Flash video playback component for the CTV video players. In 2010, they became a Senior Web Developer at Shaw Communications, where they worked on the online video player. In 2015, they worked as a Web Developer at Flick Software Inc., where they provided additional development support on AngularJS web apps and Android native applications. Finally, in 2016 they joined Kinaxis as a Senior Software Developer, where they ported the existing legacy client as a web application using React/Typescript. In 2023, they took on the role of Senior Software Engineer at Maple (getmaple.ca).

Mark Ross attended the College of Geographic Sciences from 1990 to 1991, where they obtained a degree in Computer Programming. Mark then attended Musquodoboit Rural High School from 1985 to 1990, where they completed their high school education. In 2022, they took the Fundamentals of Digital Image and Video Processing course at Northwestern University and the Indigenous Canada course at the University of Alberta.
