Balendran Thavarajah has a diverse work experience spanning from 2002 to the present. Balendran is currently the Founder and CEO of getmee, a communication and personal development coach. Prior to this, they worked as an Advisory Board Member and Industry Partner at Western Sydney University, where they collaborated with academic directors to develop industry-relevant courses. Balendran also served as a Guest Lecturer at the university from 2014 to 2018.

Before joining the university, Balendran was the Founding CTO at Bluedot, a technology company specializing in location-based services. Balendran played a crucial role in enabling location-based commerce and social innovation by overcoming the challenges associated with precise location-aware applications.

From 2009 to 2013, Balendran worked at Standards Australia as a Development Manager and Technical Lead. Balendran was responsible for managing a technical development team, defining technical architecture, and aligning IT systems with business strategy. Technologies used during this time included Struts2, Spring, Hibernate, JBPM, Ajax, CAS, SunOne Directory, Oracle, and SQL Server.

Balendran also has experience as a Founder of Softech Solutions, where they developed and managed a software solution for retail stores. Additionally, they worked as a Software Consultant at Soul and as a Senior Consultant at DigiPlus, where they led the technical migration of billing systems.

In the earlier stages of their career, Balendran worked as a Software Developer at the Centrelink - Australian Government Department of Human Services. Balendran also founded Software Plus, a company that provided affordable retail management software to small and medium-sized retail stores. Furthermore, they served as a Tutor/Associate Lecturer at the University of Western Sydney, teaching courses on information security, operating systems, database systems, and computer organization.

Balendran Thavarajah has a solid education background in the field of Computer Science. Balendran has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Western Sydney University, which they completed between 2001 and 2003. Later, they pursued a Master of IT degree at the University of Sydney from 2004 to 2006, further specializing in Computer Science. In 2010, Balendran also completed a short course in Management at the University of Technology Sydney.

In addition to their formal education, Balendran has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional skills. Balendran completed the PRINCE2® Foundation certification through APMG International in February 2013. Balendran also holds the ITIL V3 Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management, granted by APMG International; however, the exact month and year of its attainment are not specified. Most recently, in July 2021, they completed the Newchip Accelerator program offered by the Newchip Accelerator institution.
