Juan Jose Garcia

Juan Jose Garcia has a diverse work experience across various companies and roles. Juan Jose started their career as an IT Consultant at Estrategia Digital, where they developed Delphi software and worked on projects for employee assistance control and access control.

Juan Jose then worked at Banco Cuscatlan as a Software Team Leader, managing a team for the analysis, design, and implementation of the Loyalty System. Juan Jose also collaborated with AS400 and Peoplesoft applications.

Later, at Procesadora de Tarjetas de Creditos, S.A., Juan worked as a Software Developer, where they managed projects, conducted analysis, design, and development, and implemented software for fast loans and a credit card system.

At Citi Bank, they worked as an IT Specialist, focusing on JEE for the Netbanking webpage and handling small developments for the BAU unit in Central America.

As a Senior Web Developer at Vantage Media, Juan served as a project manager and developer, working on releases for the VM core platform and managing daily implementations and technical requirements for Yahoo Education.

Juan Jose then joined SL Technologies as a Manager, where they developed a Java application for the national identity card project in Guatemala. Juan Jose also implemented an application for inputting citizen information into a central database.

Juan worked at Xoom, a PayPal service, as a Software Engineer for a brief period before joining PayPal. At PayPal, they held multiple roles, including Software Engineer 2 and Software Engineer 3, where they worked on various software development projects.

At PayPal, they also served as a Manager of Software Development for the Payments Team, handling ACH payments system maintenance and implementing new bank payments with IAT format for the US. Juan Jose also developed and implemented a new Canada integration for bank payments.

Most recently, Juan worked at Elinvar.de as a Lead Software Engineer, overseeing software development projects, and as a Backend Developer.

Juan Jose is currently working at Pliant as a Back End Developer.

Juan Jose Garcia completed their education at Universidad del Valle de Guatemala. From 1997 to 2002, they pursued a degree in Computer Science and obtained a Baccalaureatus in Scientiis. Juan Jose then continued their studies at the same institution and graduated as an Engineer in Computer Science in 2005. In addition to their formal education, Juan Jose Garcia obtained two certifications in 2020. Juan Jose completed a course on "Giving and Receiving Feedback" from LinkedIn, as well as a course on "Spring: Framework In Depth" from the same platform.
