Melanie Polk

Melanie Polk is a seasoned nutrition professional with extensive experience in both consulting and education. Currently self-employed as a retired/consulting nutritionist in Ponte Vedra, FL, Melanie also serves as a facilitator/educator at GetSetUp and an instructor for the OLLI Program at the University of North Florida. Previous roles include serving as a nutrition consultant at OptumHealth and directing the Senior Nutrition Program at Montgomery County DHHS. Additionally, Melanie spent almost a decade as the Director of Nutrition Education at the American Institute for Cancer Research, advocating for the link between diet and cancer risk through various media. Early career experiences include private nutrition consulting and serving as an assistant professor at the University of Connecticut. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Food from Cornell University and a Master of Medical Science from Emory University, complemented by a dietetic internship.
