Dr. Ansgar Grüne

Dr. Ansgar Grüne has a diverse work experience in various roles in the field of data science and software development. Dr. Ansgar is currently working as a Senior Data Scientist at GetYourGuide since December 2018. Prior to that, they worked at trivago as a Data Scientist / Algorithm Engineer from June 2015 to September 2018. Before their role at trivago, Dr. Grüne served as the Head of (Backend) Development at ROCKETHOME from January 2011 to May 2015.

Dr. Ansgar also has experience as a Software Developer, working as a freelancer and on their own projects in PHP, MySQL, Zend Framework, Java, and Facebook from October 2009 to May 2011. Prior to that, they worked at Sedo GmbH as a Developer specializing in Traffic Monetization from October 2008 to September 2009. Dr. Grüne also practiced web programming, focusing on PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, and AJAX, during a brief period in 2008.

Dr. Grüne's earlier career includes academic roles at the University of Bonn. Dr. Ansgar worked as an Assistant Lecturer/Researcher from January 2008 to May 2008, and previously served as a Ph.D. student / research assistant / teaching assistant from November 2002 to November 2007. Dr. Ansgar'sPh.D. research primarily focused on computational geometry and they had research stays at various institutions during their studies.

Dr. Ansgar Grüne has an extensive education history in the field of computer science and related disciplines. Dr. Ansgar obtained their Ph.D. in Computer Science from The University of Bonn, completing their studies from 2002 to 2007. Prior to that, they earned a Diploma in Computer Science, with a minor in Electronics/Mathematics, from FernUniversität in Hagen, where they studied from 1994 to 2004. Dr. Grüne also holds another Diploma, this time in Mathematics with a minor in Business Studies, from The University of Bonn, where they studied from 1994 to 2002.

In addition to their studies in Germany, Dr. Grüne spent a year abroad as an Exchange Student at The University of Kansas from 1998 to 1999. During their time there, they focused on Mathematics and Computer Science. Overall, their extensive education background includes a strong foundation in computer science, mathematics, and related disciplines.
