Richard Huamán Ortiz has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Richard began their career at Brida Ingenieria de Proyectos, where they worked as a Maintenance Supervisor, responsible for planning and designing maintenance assignments for machinery support. After that, they joined Komatsu-Mitsui Maquinarias Peru S.A. as a Technical Inspector, where they conducted inspections and monitored the performance of Komatsu mining equipment.

In 2013, Richard Huamán Ortiz joined the University of Campinas - UNICAMP as a Research Student. During this time, they focused on vibration control, conducting research in the Department of Computational Mechanics. Richard was involved in modeling flexible structures for dynamic analysis and tuning controllers for vibration attenuation.

Richard Huamán Ortiz then moved on to work at AATE - Line 2, Metro of Lima, as a Railway Engineer. In this role, they supervised the design of rolling stock and depot equipment for Metro Lima Line 2.
