Christian Aschenbach

Christian Aschenbach is a seasoned professional in natural resource management with extensive experience spanning various roles in the forestry sector. Currently serving as the Programme Director for the "International Sustainable Forest Management Programme" at GFA Consulting Group GmbH since January 2015, Christian oversees project conceptualization, contract allocation, and project guidance for the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture. Prior to this role, Christian worked as an independent consultant starting in April 2013, and held positions as a Consultant and Project Manager at GFA from September 2011 to March 2013, and as an International Forestry Advisor at GTZ from April 2008 to July 2011. Early career stages included a role as a Consultant/Young Professional at GFA from October 2006 to April 2008. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science degree in (Tropical) Forestry from Technische Universität Dresden, earned between 1998 and 2005.
