William Shields

William Shields is the Chief Compliance Officer and Assistant General Counsel at Cantor Fitzgerald, where they have served since 2017. They are also the Chief Compliance Officer at BGC Partners, a role they have held since 2015, and previously chaired the Wholesale Markets Brokers Association in 2015. William's extensive career began with supervisory roles at NASD from 1994 to 2000, and they later served as Vice President and Associate Counsel at RBC from 2000 to 2002. William holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Syracuse University and a Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School.
