Steven Kern

Steven E. Kern is the Executive Director at GH Labs since October 2022. With a strong background in pharmaceutics, anesthesiology, and bioengineering, Kern has held various roles at University of Utah since July 1996, starting as an Associate Professor and Adjunct Associate Professor. Kern has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Clinical Pharmacology at Asan Medical Center and as a Global Head in Pharmacology Modeling & Simulation at Novartis. Kern's career includes roles at Gates Ventures and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where he was Deputy Director and Sr. Program Officer. Kern holds a PhD in Bioengineering from University of Utah, a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University, and a Master of Science in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Penn State University.
