Conor Burke

VP Strategic Innovation at GH Research

Conor Burke has a wealth of experience in the field of innovation and engineering. Conor began their career in 2006 as Research Manager for the Optical Sensors Lab at the National Centre for Sensor Research. In 2008, they moved to the Biomedical Diagnostics Institute as Senior Projects Manager, where they were responsible for project management, industry/academic research, and the acquisition of funding. In 2012, they were promoted to Associate Director (Commercialisation). In 2016, they joined Dublin City University as a Strategic Projects Executive, where they were responsible for formulating and optimising business plans for large-scale strategic R&D initiatives. In 2017, they moved to the Fraunhofer Project Centre for Embedded BioAnalytical Systems at DCU as Head of Business Development and Operations. In 2018, they joined Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals as Director of Innovation and Systems Engineering, Global Device Engineering, and then was promoted to Associate Director Innovation, Device Engineering. In 2021, they joined GH Research as VP Strategic Innovation.

Conor Burke obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from UCD Smurfit Executive MBA 2015-17, with a focus on Strategy, Finance, and Leadership. Conor also holds a Ph.D. from Dublin City University in Optical chemical sensor development, a B.Sc. in Physics with French from Dublin City University, and an IUP2 GSI from Université de Metz in Applied Physics. Additionally, they have a PRINCE2 (Foundation) project management certification.
