George Anti Kwakye CMILT has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. George began their career in 1994 as a Teaching Professional at the Church of Christ Junior School, where they taught various subjects and developed lesson plans for students. In 2003, they joined Global Cargo and Commodities Ltd as a Shipping Operations Assistant, where they managed freight rates, supervised clearing and forwarding operations, and liaised with port authorities.
In 2006, George became a Sales Executive at Bolloré Transport & Logistics, where they managed the commercial portfolio of Nordana Line in Ghana. George expanded the customer base, maintained existing relationships, and generated sales reports.
In 2007, George joined the Ghana Maritime Authority as a Senior Maritime Administrative Officer. George documented seafarers' engagement and discharge, inspected vessels for compliance with manning scales, and settled disputes between seafarers, masters, and ship owners. George also assessed seafarers for certification and registration.
Throughout their career at the Ghana Maritime Authority, George held various roles. George was responsible for the implementation of MLC 2006 policies and standards, development and review of SPRA certification processes, and supervision of maritime safety and occupational health practices.

George Anti Kwakye CMILT has a diverse and extensive education history. George completed their Professional Diploma in Marine Surveying, specializing in Non Liquid Cargoes, from Lloyd's Maritime Academy in 2015. In the same year, they also obtained a Master of Arts degree in Ports and Shipping Administration from the University of Ghana. In 2012, George pursued a CEMBA degree in Public Administration and Management, General, from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi. George also obtained a Professional Teachers Certificate from the Presbyterian College of Education between 1991 and 1994. In terms of additional certifications, George has completed various trainings related to labor conditions on board fishing vessels, the application of International Labour Standards, and the ILO MLC, 2006, offered by ITCILO. George is also a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.

The Ghana Maritime Authority is under the general direction of the Ministry of Transport with the objective of providing the Ghana Government with the machinery which will enable it to satisfactorily and efficiently regulate activities of boat operations and safety of navigation in the Inland Waterways; as well as superintend and coordinate the functions embodied in the Ghana Shipping Act, 2003 (Act 645).
